Our Club

The Kiwanis Club of Davao City, Inc. was established on June 6, 1967, making it one of the pioneering Kiwanis clubs in Mindanao. It began with 44 members and received its official charter on November 10, 1967. From its early days, the club was active in community service, helping orphans, flood victims, and schoolchildren, and promoting health initiatives.
Over five decades, the club has played a significant role in the growth of Kiwanis in the Philippines, especially in the Philippine South District, which was formally established in 1975. Several members from the Davao club have served in high leadership roles, including district governors and international trustees, earning national and international recognition.
Notable projects include:
• Operation Drug Alert (anti-drug education campaign),
• Operation Stop Smoking (public awareness against smoking),
• Salt Iodization and IDD eradication (in partnership with UNICEF),
• and numerous medical missions and educational aid efforts.
The club also contributed to leadership development, with many members serving as lieutenant governors, secretaries, treasurers, and committee chairs. Their efforts have significantly impacted public health policies, including the banning of non-iodized salt and public smoking in Davao City under then-Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
Through decades of dedicated service, the Kiwanis Club of Davao City has upheld its commitment to community welfare and leadership excellence.
